Dreamweaver 8 Review

I installed the trial version of Dreamweaver 8 to help me decide what I want to do about replacing my Devnet subscriptions.

Fist thing I noticed was that at first glance there were not major changes to the interface. As you can see in the screenshot below there a changes to the graphic but the basic options are the some with a few additions and at bosk one omission. The omission is that ASP.Net using VB.Net is no longer on the main dynamic page options list but remains supported.

interface

There is a new entry on the create from templates menu a Starter Pages. These consist of 5 pay types in each of several site designs. I have uploaded the calendar page from Travel starter set to show you what it looks like. The only changes to the page are to the title and link to home which was replaced by a link to return to this page.

Unfortunately then are me new CSS layouts with this version. The starter pages I looked at use table layouts.

The PageDesigns have been updated so that all of the page designs are now marked as accessible rather than just a subset of them being singled out as accessible.
