How to FTP with FireFTP for Firefox

This is a free extension to Firefox, currently in beta but you shouldn't have a problem with it.

  1. Download and intall Firefox if you havn't already. Then go to http://fireftp.mozdev.org and download the extension. (Note, that if you have Firefox set to block pop-ups or other security features enabled you may need to allow the download) fireftp install
  2. Shut down all instances of Firefox and restart.
  3. Go to your menu bar and click Tools->FireFTP. Future versions will include a button for easy access.

  4. That will load the program inside a Firefox tab:add userid/password
    1. Host hame - floridaphotosafari.com
    2. User name - provided by Tony
    3. Password - provided by Tony
    4. Conect
    5. Browse to your local working copy
  5. You do not need to select the FTP directory because when the account was set up it would only allow you to post in the directory Tony assigned to you.
  6. Well, once you've connected, you'll find that the local files are on your left and the remote files are on your right. You can click on a local file and press the arrow pointing to the right to upload a file to the server.
    Conversely, you can click on a file on the right side and press the arrow pointing to the left to download a file from the server to your computer.
